What is Conditioned Response Training?
Conditioned response training is a logical, reasoned approach to training,
where you set up a condition and you get a response from the horse. For
example, the condition could be that you squeeze your horse with your legs, and
the desired response is that the horse increases his leg speed. When
you set up the condition often enough and you get the desired response
consistently, then the condition becomes a cue for a specific desired action.
The Three Training Rules
All of our training must comply with the following
rules:
- You cannot get hurt.
- Your horse cannot get hurt.
- The horse must be calmer after the lesson is over than before it began.
