About Jennifer
In
the spring of 1995, Jennifer Lyle embarked on a life-changing adventure as she
took time away form her successful software testing consulting practice to
participate in the John Lyons Certification Program in Parachute,
Colorado. Eighteen months later, Jennifer graduated and began her conditioned
response training center in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. By combining her nine
years of experience in teaching software applications and her love for horses,
her 157-acre Free Rein Farm offers many unique educational
programs. From custom-tailored clinics and weekend workshops
to the very successful semi-annual Conditioned Response Training Retreat,
Jennifer’s concept mastery approach to teaching ensures her clients an
in-depth and thorough learning experience. Jennifer’s goal is to "put
herself out of business", by providing her clients with the knowledge,
tools confidence, and problem-solving skills to return home and continue to set
goals and meet them with their equine partners. With a strong focus on building
a partnership-based relationship between the owner and the horse, combined with
the simple concept of making it easy for the horse to be right, Jennifer can
help you achieve a bond with your horse that most
equestrians only dream about.
Jennifer’s stable of quality American Saddlebred horses offers the
opportunity to see just how well the training methods work. Saddlebreds are
often referred to as the "peacocks of the show ring" because of their
high-spirited temperament and animated way of going. This spirit and animation
has limited the Saddlebreds usefulness in some horsemen’s minds, yet by using
John’s conditioned response techniques, Jennifer dispels this myth. Sweet
Ambition is a 12 year old Three-Gaited Show mare that doubles as a
13-year-old girl’s best friend and trail companion. Sweet Ambition
is ridden in a simple full-cheek snaffle, on draped rein, and will stop
immediately and with collection when just one rein is lifted. Jennifer’s
certification program partner, Callaway’s En, ¾ sister to
Ladies 5-Gaited WC Callaway’s Misha, demonstrates the beauty and grace of the
breed, while helping students master many training exercises.
Jennifer believes that everyone can learn to train his or her
own horse - no matter what breed of horse, the riding discipline or the owner’s
level of experience. Inside every horse there is a calm, relaxed, responsive
partner, just waiting to be uncovered. Inside every horse owner, there are the
raw materials needed to create dramatic changes in the equine/human
relationship. Through the programs offered at Free Rein Farm you can discover
the keys to unlock your horse’s potential and at the same time, put the joy
and fun back into working with your horse. Here’s what some of Jennifer’s
students are saying about their learning experiences with her:
"…I didn't realize how much I got out of the (Conditioned Response
Training) retreat for those 5 days until now that I am at home and
practicing things. I definitely am becoming a more active rider instead of
reactive! Thanks again!"
- G. Gottsacker
"Jennifer has shown me methods that build a partnership with my
horse through setting achievable stepping stone goals. Attaining each tiny
goal builds our confidence in each other and encourages us to reach for
more. (She) has a unique way of presenting the lessons. Through group
discussion, testimonials, demonstrations and one-on-one coaching I was able
to mentally walk through the lesson so I had a picture of what I could
expect before working with my horse."
